Siena House at St Bede’s have fundraised the academic year 18/19 for the Foundation after we were nominated as their charity of the year. The students took part in various activities to raise money. We are enormously grateful.
Our running heroes
Our friend Jo-anne Hargreaves ran the Manchester 10k in 2019 with her sister Tracy and raised an incredible £1050! Tim Newman ran the City of Manchester 10k and raised almost £400!
Christmas Concerts 2018
In December 2018, Katie Hibbard organised two Christmas Choir Concerts in Darlington to raise money for the Foundation – £1100 in total!
Birthday Fundraisers
Recently, several of our friends arranged birthday fundraisers instead of receiving presents and have raised over several thousand pounds for the Foundation. Also, amazingly one of our grant recipients also did a birthday fundraiser and raised almost £2000.
Boxing Day Dip at Hartlepool
On Boxing Day, Vicki Lumb and friends did the Boxing Day dip at Hartlepool and raised £287!
The Great North Run
Emily ran the Great North Run in Newcastle in September 2018 with her friend Lucy. It was her first Half Marathon and she managed to complete it in 2 hours 18 mins. We have raised £2317 which is just fantastic. Thank you!
Coast to Coast cycling challenge
In May 2018, a team of train manufacturers cycled 135 miles from Workington to Sunderland over three days to raise awareness and money for The Cindy Appleyard Foundation. The Team are Darren Thompson, David Gibb, Craig Henderson, Lee Brooksbank, Dean Sanderson, Michael Brown and Adam Bradley Walker. They raised £1666 for The Cindy Appleyard Foundation!
